Kwankwaso Puts National Unity Above 2027 Ambition — Ladipo Johnson
A former National Publicity Secretary of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, Ladipo Johnson, says Rabiu Kwankwaso is prioritising Nigeria’s unity over personal political ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Johnson made this statement during an interview on Arise Television, while reacting to recent political movements involving opposition politicians.
He said former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have been working together within a political arrangement linked to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) as discussions around 2027 elections continue.
According to him, many political leaders are now exploring new political platforms because they are not satisfied with the current situation in the country.
Johnson added that Kwankwaso’s approach shows he is more interested in national unity and cooperation than in pursuing personal political goals.
He further said Kwankwaso appears open to supporting Peter Obi’s political direction as part of efforts to build a stronger and more united opposition ahead of the next general election.
